Mirador Sa Foradada in Mallorca

Mirador Sa Foradada is one of the most famous, but also the most beautiful viewpoints on the island. Mallorca offers diverse landscapes that delight even those most skeptical about it – I know, because I was one of those people. This place is a great idea to celebrate the sunset with a glass of wine. Another attraction in the area is certainly the chapel of Son Marroig with its beautiful gardens, open to the public.

The viewpoint is hidden at the foot of the mountains, which stretch for miles on the west side of the island. Definitely worth a visit after visiting the town of Deia, or Valldemossa, which are a few kilometers away. To get to Mirador Sa Foradada, all you have to do is turn off the main road to a rather large parking lot, which is located right next to it. Then head towards the sea and the restaurant “Chillout Sa Foradada” will appear before our eyes. A few steps further down is “Restaurante Mirador Na Foradada”, but the main star of this place is the restaurant located at the very end of the cliff, the famous “Sa Foradada”. The names sound confusing, don’t they?

What to do near Mirador Sa Foradada?

Many people go to this place just for the photo. However, I highly recommend spending a little more time here and walking to the end of the cliff to enjoy the beautiful views and the bay at Punta Prima. I’ll admit – not the best conditions for beachcombing here, but all the bad is compensated by divine views. As I mentioned a bit above, right next to Mirador Sa Foradada there is the Son Marroig chapel. This is one of the most popular places on the island when it comes to engagements or weddings.

However, if you feel like exploring further, you should definitely see what the area has to offer. We are talking about beautiful local towns such as Valldemossa, Deia, Soller or Fornalutx. Many people also choose to visit Sa Foradada on foot, by bike or by bus. The first two options are ideal for lovers of this type of entertainment. I definitely prefer to travel by car or bus – yes, it is possible to take the bus line 210.

What to expect from this place?

Definitely the beautiful views, the wildlife surrounding you, the smells of seafood from the restaurants and the endless view of the endless sea. Be warned that the prices here are high – this is all due to the not so easy access. What is important, you should take care of the safety of your belongings here. Tourists are often robbed there. Do not leave valuables in cars and pay attention to unusual behavior of other people.

I highly recommend visiting Sa Foradada, especially since this beautiful viewpoint in Mallorca is on the way with other points worth visiting. I am very interested in your opinions. Did you manage to reach this place? How would you rate it? Did you manage to taste the specialties served in restaurant at the end of the cliff? Let me know in comments.
