Cala Millor in Majorca is a town located in the north-east of the island. The bay has one of the longest and most beautiful beaches on this part of the island. The town is distinguished by its lively atmosphere, clearly more entertaining than the neighboring Sa Coma or S’illot. You will find here plenty of restaurants, pubs, shops and picturesque promenades. Walking along the promenade, you can feel the true atmosphere of the Balearic Islands: palm trees, local paella, a vast, golden beach with crystal clear water, and in the background majestic mountains and impressive hotels. Cala Millor is a place where nature harmoniously combines with the tourist face of Majorca.

Cala Millor in Mallorca – is it a good place for families with children?

On the beach in Cala Millor you can see a lot of children – this is a place especially popular with families. This is influenced by several factors. Firstly, there are numerous lifeguards here to ensure safety, which is understandable due to the size of the beach. In addition, you will find many water attractions here: paragliding, rides on an inflatable “banana”, motorboats, pedalos and other water entertainment. The water is moderately shallow and very clean, and cruises regularly depart from the nearby port.

Right on the beach you will find numerous restaurants, and a little further – the Bonanza stud farm, where horse riding is organized. Cala Millor also offers entertainment for those looking for nightlife – there are discos here, as well as mini amusement parks. In such parks you can find billiards, bouncy castles, trampolines, a pool with mini pontoons for children and various machines for fun. Cala Millor in Mallorca – what to do?

Cala Millor is a larger town compared to the surrounding towns, full of restaurants, pubs, tourist offices and rental shops. I highly recommend staying here if you are planning a holiday in Majorca. In such seaside towns, attractions are guaranteed, because tourism is the main industry of the island. It is on the beaches that you will find restaurants with popular dishes, hotels, shops and amusement parks.

For those who would like to go on a one-day cruise, there are also plenty of options. In Cala Millor, as in other towns, there is a port, where there are wooden booths with tickets for various cruises. You can sail on a traditional boat or choose a ship with a glass floor. However, I recommend the round trip to Cala Ratjada the most – it allows for a full day of sightseeing in picturesque bays and beaches, which is a perfect way to discover the charms of the island.

Cala Millor in Majorca – attractions for children

If you are planning a trip to Cala Millor with a child, you have nothing to worry about – there are really many attractions for the youngest. In the numerous shops on the seaside promenade you will find wetsuits, swimsuits, inflatable life buoys and armbands, so everything you need for a safe holiday by the water is at your fingertips. Safety: Due to the popularity of the beach, the place is well-secured by numerous lifeguards, making it a safe choice for families with children.
Water and recreational activities: The possibility of taking part in cruises, water sports and equipment rentals makes it an ideal place for active people.
Convenient transport connections: Cala Millor is easily accessible to other attractions in Mallorca, and the local port offers cruises around picturesque coves.
Child-friendly atmosphere: Many attractions are adapted for the youngest, and the shops offer a wide range of beach accessories for children.

Cons Cala Millor

Crowded in high season: During the high season, the beach can be crowded, which can make it difficult to find a quiet spot to relax. Choose the far right part of the beach if you are looking for peace and quiet.
Touristic character of the town: Cala Millor is very much focused on tourism, so those looking for an authentic, local feel may feel a bit like a commercial resort.
Prices in high season: High popularity means that prices in restaurants and bars may be higher than in lesser-known places on the island.
Limited cultural offer: Cala Millor focuses mainly on tourist entertainment, so those looking for cultural attractions may find more suitable places on the island. In the area: Son Servera, Manacor, Porto Cristo.

Cala Millor is therefore a great choice for those looking for a well-organised holiday destination, full of attractions and facilities, but who are also prepared to accept the more touristy atmosphere of this popular resort. But don’t let this fool you, even in Cala Millor you can feel the real Majorcan atmosphere, especially when the local fiestas are held here!

What to see around Cala Millor in Mallorca?

Cala Millor is a large town with a lot of attractions, so you don’t have to worry about boredom here. However, as we all know, sometimes our area is not enough, and Mallorca offers a lot of beautiful views and places. That’s why I’ve listed below places in the immediate vicinity of Cala Millor that are worth visiting:

Manacor: This is the largest town in the Sa Coma area, known primarily for the production of Majorica pearls. On Mondays, there is a market here, from 9:00 to 13:30. There is also a Rafael Nadal museum, you can buy tickets here. There is also a museum in the city dedicated to the history of Manacor.
Porto Cristo: This charming town situated by the sea is famous for its beautiful caves. It is worth visiting the Drach caves, or Hams where you can admire stalactites, stalagmites and an underground lake. There is also an attraction for children – Dinosaurland. Find out the prices and offers here. In the port of Porto Cristo there is also a catamaran of Rafael Nadal, which was manufactured in the shipyard in Gdansk. A large house on a cliff in brown color is the residence of the tennis player.
Son Servera: Every Friday from 9:00 to 13:30 there is a local market where you can buy fresh produce, souvenirs or clothes. It is a small but very charming and pleasant to the eye town, which I highly recommend visiting. Apart from the market, be sure to visit the unfinished church Eglesia Nova.

Punta de n’Amer: This nature reserve is a true paradise for wildlife lovers. Here you can admire the variety of plants, watch birds and enjoy the peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Horses, ponies and donkeys often graze freely here.
Costa de los Pinos: This exclusive coast is famous for its beautiful pebble beaches and crystal clear waters. It is worth coming here to relax and admire the picturesque views. At the very end of the estate there is a viewpoint from which the view extends to the entire coast: location.
S’illot: This charming fishing town has retained its authentic character. Here you can stroll through the narrow streets, visit local shops and try fresh seafood. Every Thursday from around 6pm there is a local market.
Cala Rafalino – a nudist bay located right next to Cala Morlanda. You can get there on foot or by boat. It is rocky and has no services, but you can count on the beautiful color of the water, peace and the harsh circumstances of nature, characteristic of Majorca.
Cala Petita – a small bay between Porto Cristo and Cala Rafalino. It is very narrow, but the water here makes you want to dive in and not come out for a long time. It is a wild bay, so you can only get there on foot or by boat.

Talaiotic remains – both in the town Cala Morlanda as well as the nearby town s’Illot there are remains of prehistoric towns Talaiot. You can admire them completely free of charge in both towns. You can find the locations by clicking on the above names of towns.
