Ermita de Betlem in Mallorca

Ermita de Betlem in Mallorca is a hermitage built in the Arta region, located on a hill 280 meters high. The hermitage dates back to the 19th century. In the area that is now occupied by the Ermita de Betlem hermitage there used to be a defensive tower and an oil mill. The building itself is very well preserved, and inside you can admire works of art by artists such as Manuel Bayeu, and Juan Rosselló. What draws me to places like this is the beautiful location, the architecture and the surrounding gardens. The entrance to Ermita de Betlem is a long road with beautiful cypresses growing on its sides. It makes a great visual impression.

There are pilgrimages to Ermita de Betlem in Mallorca every year. There is a church on site, and in the rooms and outside you can admire the remains of previous eras, left by the previous owners and inhabitants of the hermitage. There is also a small spring that brings water to the Ermita de Betlem and the mill. The hermitage is a great place for a hike, but also easily accessible by car or bicycle. The route is pleasant, adapted even for children. The gardens, the fountain, the beautiful vaults and the rooms made in the 19th century will help you learn about the culture of the island and discover another side of it.

What to do around Ermita de Betlem in Mallorca?

I must admit that the region of Arta and its surroundings are definitely beautiful landscapes, very green and full of beautiful beaches, traditions and also history. I highly recommend visiting the sanctuary of Arta, the castle of Capdepera, the lighthouse of Far de Capdepera and the port of Cala Ratjada. When it comes to beaches, be sure to visit places such as Cala Mesquida, Cala Agulla, Cala Gat and Cala na Clara, Cala Torta, or Sa Font de Sa Cala.
