Cala Murada in Mallorca
Cala Murada in Mallorca is one of the bays located in the southeast of the island near the famous Cala Domingos. What makes Cala Murada different from other bays is definitely the river, which is located behind the beach. It’s called Torrent des Fangar and you’ll usually see ducks, geese and many other creatures, including fish of course. Another rather surprising attraction close to the beach are the caves carved out of the rocks which are currently closed to visitors, but it’s worth going there even for the views, or to take a peek inside.
There is a restaurant by the beach, and parking is very easy to access, free, and is just behind the beach. The beach is sandy, there are slightly higher cliffs to the right, and to the left the area is a bit flatter, but still rocky. Heading a little further to the left, along the rocks, you will reach a small natural pool. Cala Murada itself is very pleasant and the area is very peaceful. There are many bungalows and hotels and the area is very family friendly.
What to do in the Cala Murada in Mallorca?
I highly recommend considering renting a car during your vacation in this place, because the local public transport is not very well organized. In the immediate vicinity it is worth seeing the beautiful bays of Cala Domingos and Cala Domingos Petit, or the famous Cala Antena with its beautiful panoramic promenade. Another place worth visiting is the port town of Portocolom and located a little further Cala d’Or and its surrounding beaches such as Cala Mitjana, Cala Sa Nau, Cala Esmeralda and many others.
A little further I highly recommend to see the town of Santanyi, Felantix, or the Sant Salvador santkuarium with a view over the surrounding area. I am very curious if any of you managed to reach the interesting bay of Cala Murada. Let me know in comments how did you like it and would you recommend this place to others?
