Mirador Es Colomer in Mallorca is definitely one of the more popular places to watch the sunset, which is spectacular here. This viewpoint is the first stop on the way to the Cap de Formentor lighthouse. Just beyond the parking lot (39.92898647387768, 3.110570581599528) is a monument to Antonio Parietti Coll, the engineer who designed the viewpoint and the famous winding road to Formentor. I would like to emphasize that in high season entry to Formentor is forbidden from 10:00 to 18:00. On Formentor you can move then only by public transport or cars of private tourist companies (for example, if you bought an optional excursion from an agent).
Mirador Es Colomer in Mallorca is very crowded in high season and it is very hard to find a parking place there, so it is worth to go here early in the morning or late in the evening. This vantage point allows you to see the beautiful landscape of the Tramuntana mountains, the sea surrounding Majorca, and if you are lucky, dolphins in the sea or wild goats jumping on the mountains. On the other side is a view of the watchtower of Talaia d’Albercutx, the rugged mountain landscape and Port de Pollenca. The views are great and the altitude of this place is breathtaking.
What to do near Mirador Es Colomer in Mallorca?
Be sure to visit the watchtower and the lighthouse I mentioned above. Along the way you can deviate from the route and go for a walk in the wild bays such as Cala Figuera or Cala Murta. I would definitely recommend taking a break at the local sandy beach Platja Formentor, declared one of the most beautiful beaches on Mallorca.
