Llucmajor in Mallorca
Llucmajor in Mallorca is one of the larger cities on the island, which is famous for its traditions and also for benefiting from all the goods that are found in the region. The city is famous for its industrial and agricultural side. It grows apricots, almonds, and manufactures products made of wood, gold, or leather. It’s one of the most recognizable places when it comes to shoe manufacturing. It is also worth mentioning that this place is one of the oldest towns in Mallorca, dating back to the time when our ancestors lived in talayotic villages.
When visiting Llucmajor, you should definitely take a look at the main buildings of this town, such as the town hall, the church or the baroque monastery, or of course the remains of the talayot, or Yacimiento talayótico de Capocorb Vell. The region in which the town is located is also famous for its windmills, or so-called “molino de viento”, which are hard to miss when visiting these places. The population of Llucmajor used to make a living from agriculture and shoemaking, as you will notice when walking around the village.
What to do in the area Llucmajor in Mallorca?
In the area you should definitely visit Santuari de Cura, located on a hill with beautiful views, but also beaches such as El Arenal, the beautiful Cala Pi, or the famous Es Trenc and its surroundings.
