Cala Mesquida Beach
There is another beach located in the north east of Majorca. He decided to visit her during my trip to Cala Agulla. As they appear side by side, I could not let it go. The beach of Cala Mesquida impressed me that it stands out against other Majorca beaches. It resembles more severe Canary Islands than Majorca. Location Cala Mesquida to a very quiet and picturesque neighborhood. I would choose to a place only if I would like to spend my holidays in a very crowded and very quiet place.
Cala Mesquida beach also has natural zones.
You can not cross them. A rope separates them from the beach, for which you can not go. Disrespect of nature, especially in natural zones, threatens with a large mandate. The beach is really big for Majorca. There is a rescue booth, deckchairs for rent and equipment for water sports. There’s a bar at the back of the beach. There is no special parking, but it can be parked on the sidewalks and on the side and nearby parking lots. Can the Cala Mesquida also be served by bus. From the bus stop to the beach you walk about 5 minutes.
The water on Cala Mesquida beach is quite clear.
What surprised me on the beach is a strange drop at the very edge. This means that if you are on the beach with children, it will be difficult to control them from the towel / sunbed. They will not simply be visible. Water is not one of the finest. The beach does not have a blue flag. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate the crystallinity of water to 7.5. The beach goes down the stairs. There are showers and toilets on the beach. Hotels and restaurants are built on the cliffs above the beach. In one of the restaurants there is a viewpoint. Near the beach there are two shops where you can stock up on food and drink. However, prices are not attractive, as for Majorca.
Like Cala Agulla, Cala Mesquida belongs to an exceptionally protected natural zone.
That is why I recommend paying attention to what you leave behind on the beach and keeping the place clean. As I wrote above, natural zones can not be entered. That’s why there was a specially built pedestrian street, where you can go, while admiring the amazing views. Cala Mesquida is definitely a beach that is worth visiting while being in Majorca.
What to do around Cala Mesquida?
I definitely recommend going to the medieval town of Capdepera, and to visit the castle of Castell de Capdepera there. I also recommend going to the neighboring beach of Cala Agulla and hook up to the luxurious town of Cala Ratjada and the secondary Son Moll and Font de sa Cala.
