Cala Llombards in Mallorca

Cala Llombards in Mallorca is one of the most desirable bays in Majorca, a real gem on the southern coast of the island, in the charming municipality of Santanyi. Like many other bays in this part of Majorca, Cala Llombards is narrow and surrounded by picturesque cliffs covered with tall pine trees.

Another great asset of Cala Llombards in Mallorca are the charming fishing houses, which are located on the left side of the beach. They create a unique atmosphere and are a great subject for photographs. On the right side of the bay there are rocks that tempt you to jump into the crystal clear water. Additionally, ladders are installed to facilitate access to the wonderful sea pool. From these rocks you can admire beautiful views, including the characteristic natural bridge – the Es Pontas viewpoint. Another photographic corner of Cala Llombards are the famous stairs overlooking the crystal clear water. The stairs are located on the left side of the beach. Walk along the promenade towards the fishermen’s houses until you find narrow steps on the left – that’s exactly the place!

Cala Llombards in Mallorca is also an ideal place for families with children. The bay offers good conditions for relaxation and fun on the beach, while providing a beautiful environment that is a real paradise for the eyes. For those dreaming of a holiday in Mallorca, Cala Llombards is a place worth visiting and experiencing its unique charm.

What does the beach look like?

Cala Llombards is a unique beach that attracts a lot of attention in the south of Mallorca. This place offers everything you need to enjoy the pleasures of a summer vacation. On the beach there are facilities such as a bar, a lifeguard station, toilets, showers and a spacious car park. It is a paradise for lovers of water sports and diving. Thanks to the rocky formations around the beach, you can see many picturesque fish swimming in the crystal clear waters. In summer, the beach is full of life, attracting many visitors, but still retains its charming beauty.

Getting to Cala Llombards can be a bit of a challenge. It is worth using the Google Maps application, but be careful because the names of towns and bays can be misleading. Once you reach the town, it is worth following the signs “playa” or “platja”, which indicate the way to the beach. The picturesque route leads down, along winding roads, surrounding travelers with amazing views.

Municipality of Santanyi is known for its charming beaches hidden among sharp cliffs, which makes it extremely attractive. The landscapes are breathtaking, the water has a unique color and the atmosphere is safe and romantic.

Pros of Cala Llombards:

  1. Beautiful scenery: Cala Llombards is surrounded by high cliffs and lush vegetation, making it one of the most picturesque spots in Mallorca. The view of the turquoise sea and blue sky is breathtaking.
  2. Clear water: The beach is characterized by crystal clear waters, making it ideal for swimming, snorkeling and other water sports.
  3. Peaceful atmosphere: Unlike many other, more touristy beaches, Cala Llombards maintains a peaceful, intimate feel, making it a great place to relax and unwind away from the crowds.
  4. Proximity to nature: The beach is located near nature reserves and viewpoints, such as Mirador Es Pontas, allowing you to combine a relaxing time by the water with hiking in the area.
  5. Easy access: Although Cala Llombards is not very large, it is relatively easy to access. The road leading to the beach is well maintained, and there are several parking spaces in the area.

Cons:

  1. Small Space: Cala Llombards is relatively small, which can make it quite crowded during the summer season, especially during peak hours.
  2. Lack of Major Tourist Attractions: Although the area is beautiful, Cala Llombards itself doesn’t offer many tourist attractions, apart from beach time and hiking in the area. This could be a downside for those looking for a wider variety of attractions in one place.
