Cala Figuera in Formentor in Mallorca

Cala Figuera in Formentor is one of the most beautiful wild bays on Mallorca, on which I managed to beach. This place attracts not only because of the wonderful views, but also because of the presence of wild mountain goats. Yes, exactly. When going here, be sure to bring along some of the goats’ favorite treats, so they will give your provisions and backpacks a break. The goats also love to drink water and will easily drink it from a tipped bottle. The water here is crystal clear, transparent and turquoise. It is also worth mentioning that it is definitely colder than in more touristy places.

Cala Figuera in Formentor is also rocky, so I strongly recommend you to take your swimming shoes with you to make it easier for you to move around on the beach. To get to the bay, you have to park your car here: 39.949269005861936, 3.1689788794897265.I would like to point out that during high season, private car access to Formentor is prohibited from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Then I recommend taking the public bus (be warned, you should plan ahead as the buses are overcrowded). The bus to Cala Figuera stops near the location I marked above.

To get to Cala Figuera in Formentor, you have to follow the sign downhill for about 15 minutes. The trail is easy and suitable (in my opinion) even for families with children. At some points it can be quite steep, but with the right shoes and the help of a parent even children can manage. The path leads through a trodden path, sometimes hidden between trees. After a few minutes you will already have a beautiful view of the bay. On the left side of the bay there is a small fishing port. I recommend a walk in that direction, so you can see the Cala Figuera bay from a different perspective.

What to do near Cala Figuera in Formentor?

Be sure to visit another wild bay with beautiful landscapes, which is the famous Cala Murta. Of course, could not do without recommending a visit to the area around Formentor, ie Mirador Es Colomer, Platja Formentor, Cap de Formentor and the famous tower Talaia d’Albercutx, which offers views of the entire coast. A little further away it is worth visiting places such as Alcudia, Pollensa, Sa Calobra, Playa de Muro.
