Talaia d’Albercutx in Mallorca

Talaia d’Albercutx in Mallorca is one of the most beautiful and historic places on the island, and should be on every tourist’s list. Located in the Serra de Tramuntana mountains, the watchtower once served a defensive function, and its strategic location made it an ideal point for observing the surrounding areas. Today, after many years of restoration, it is one of the most popular viewpoints on the island, offering breathtaking views of the coast and mountain landscapes.

How to get to Talaia d’Albercutx in Mallorca?

Talaia d’Albercutx is located at 300 meters above sea level, near the famous Formentor lighthouse. To reach the tower, you must park your car at the coordinates: 39.92865181205044, 3.110578104627478, and then walk about 30 minutes along a picturesque mountain trail. I saw many people decide to drive right up to the tower, although I’m not sure if that’s fully permitted.

Talaia d’Albercutx is one of the many watchtowers that once protected the island from pirate attacks. Although many of these structures have been destroyed, this one has been carefully restored and is now a popular tourist destination. The tower offers not only historical value, but also unforgettable views of the north-eastern part of Mallorca. In particular, the panoramas of the Formentor Bay and the Serra de Tramuntana mountain peaks, which have been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, are stunning.
