Playa de Illetes, Majorca.
Playa de Illetes is a medium-sized bay with a sandy beach. Located near the capital of Majorca, the city of Palma. If you are staying during your vacation near the capital of the island, you can get to this beach by bus for a few euros. The name of the beach is Playa de Illetes and it comes from the islet in front of the beach. You can swim to it, but it is rocky. So swimming and rock walking shoes will come in handy!
You can get to the bay by bus number 4! The cost of the ticket is 2 euros. The beach is guarded and renting two sunbeds and an umbrella is € 13.50 for the whole day. There is a restaurant / bar in the bay which you can reach directly from the beach by stairs. There are toilets next to the restaurant (50 cents to enter). The area around Illetes Beach is beautiful. There are several hotels here and the estate looks luxurious. The bus stop is right on the beach. The walking distance is about 2 minutes.
Playa de Illetes, Mallorca – suitable for children?
In my opinion, yes. I went to the beach on a windy day. The sea was quite rough, even though the water was full of children having fun. Crossing the beach, there are two more beaches behind the restaurant. One of them is concrete, and right behind it is a flat, sandy beach. It is windy there because it is open. However, the place will definitely be suitable for the youngest. In the background you can see the coast of Majorca and colorful houses, as well as a mass of yachts. On the right side there is a perfect spot for diving enthusiasts!
Parking at Playa de Illetes.
You can park your car right on the beach, on the roadside. Parking is paid, you will pay about 1 euro for an hour of parking! Parking is available next to the beach and along the paths to the beach. If you are going to the beach by car, enter “playa de illetes” in google maps. Cala stands for the bay and playa for the beach. Cala Comtesa is the name of the bay, but also the name of the town.
What to see around Playa de Illetes?
There are plenty of beautiful cities and great attractions around the bay. Among others: Portals Nous, a town that belongs to the more luxurious. Puerto Portalls is also nearby. Where you can indulge in upscale shopping, but also enjoy beautiful views of the local beach. Cala Major, a charming bay near the island’s capital.
Castell de Bellver – the castle, which is also located near the capital, as one of the only ones in Europe, is circular. Palma, the capital of Majorca, and in it, I recommend strolling through the streets under the La Seu cathedral and going for the most delicious ice cream in Majorca, i.e. to Rivareno! In addition, it is worth seeing the Cala Vinyes bay, the beautiful gardens of Jardines de Alfabia, or the Museo de la Granja museum, where you can taste local wine, meat products and cheeses for only 16 euros! In addition, it is worth paying attention to such towns as Paguera, Port d’Andratx, Camp de Mar, Valldemossa, Banyalbufar and Deia!
