Castles
In this category we describe all the castles in Mallorca. Both the small sized ones and the slightly larger ones. We are well aware that there are lovers of monuments and history, as well as ruins and post-war remains. It is for this reason that we have created a separate category for castles. Despite its size, Mallorca is very interesting in terms of history. Not only are there many castles, sanctuaries, but also ruins or talayot towns. Interestingly, you will only find this type of town on its two sister islands, Mallorca and Menorca. Castles on Mallorca really form a large part of the island’s attractions and are an important part of its history. It is on Mallorca that you will find one of the few round castles in Europe. Thanks to history, we are able to visit these places today and their use has become unnecessary. Instead, museums have been created in the castles, the chambers are open to the public and the terraces have been turned into cafés and restaurants.
