Canyamel in Mallorca is a real gem that captivates with its beautiful and peaceful atmosphere. It is located in the north-east of Mallorca, surrounded by beautiful cliffs. I fell in love with this place at first sight and after my first visit I dreamed of being able to live there. Although the area around Canyamel can be expensive and luxurious, it is worth investing in an experience that will provide you with unforgettable moments. Here you can truly relax from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and enjoy extraordinary views that will take your breath away.

History of Canyamel

Let’s go back to the past of Canyamel in Mallorca, which has a fascinating history. It is said that the name of this place comes from the sugar cane that was once grown there. The word “Canyamel” has its roots in ancient Latin and can be translated as “sugar cane and honey”. Interestingly, the name Canyamel sounds similar to the word “caramel” (candy in English) or “caramelo” (candy in Spanish). While walking along the Canyamel beach, you will come across a characteristic bridge under which the Torrente de Canyamel river flows. This picturesque river stretches for 8 kilometers, reaching all the way to the town of Arta.

Enjoy the extraordinary atmosphere of Canyamel, where peace and harmony are the priority. Although you may not find a crowd of hotels and restaurants here, this is what makes this place so special. You can count on a moderate peace and a bit of privacy, which are so valuable during a vacation. Prepare for the magnificent views that stretch to the horizon and provide an unforgettable visual experience.

When visiting Canyamel in Mallorca, you will enter a world where time slows down and nature dominates. Be prepared to explore unique places, discover hidden corners and experience a wonderful harmony with nature. Most importantly, Canyamel in Mallorca is a peaceful, quiet place, away from the tourist masses.

In winter, the beach in Canyamel becomes a peaceful paradise, where you can enjoy wonderful silence and breathtaking views. A look in one direction reveals the majestic cliffs of Cuevas de Arta, while in the other direction there are picturesque mountains covered with lush forest, among which dozens of charming villas are hidden. This place is a real paradise on earth for me. Nature in Canyamel delights with its beauty and picturesqueness at every step.

The hidden bays of Canyamel in Mallorca

In Canyamel, as in Costa de los Pinos, there are hidden coves that hide their charms. One of the secret beaches is the concrete cove (known on Google Maps as Cala Serch), which is incredibly picturesque, although it is not easy to reach it without the right directions. However, once you are near the Baixada hotel, you will find signs leading to this hidden oasis. It is definitely worth going there and enjoying the peace and the extraordinary views.

The second hidden cove in Canyamel is the pebble beach, which arouses admiration for its wildness and natural beauty. To get there, you can start from the viewpoint at the Cuevas de Arta caves, from where you can see this hidden gem. Then you have to find the descent by the car park, which will take you on a short walk along the rocky terrain until you reach this charming pebble beach. However, it is worth remembering that the descent can be difficult and is not recommended for children. However, if you like to seek out mysterious and wild places, this cove is made for you.

Below I have included photos of both coves and a map to help you find these undiscovered treasures. It is worth spending some time and energy to discover these hidden gems of Canyamel and enjoy unforgettable moments on extraordinary beaches that will undoubtedly remain in your memory for a long time.
