Manacor in Mallorca

Manacor in Mallorca is a large city located in the northeast of the island. It is definitely famous for being home to the museum of star Rafael Nadal and his tennis school. Another attraction would definitely be the Majorica pearl factory where you can see how replicas of pearls that are famous all over the world are made. Manacor is a city where you will find everything you need – clothes, magazines, furniture stores, restaurants, electronics stores, as well as chain stores such as Mcdonalds, Jysk, Muller, Tedi and many others.

I highly recommend visiting Manacor on Monday, because that’s the day the local market is held there between 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. You can buy local products, souvenirs, crafts and much more. In the city itself I also like the area around the church and the typical Mallorcan architecture and building style. While in Manacor it is also worth visiting the Manacor History Museum, the entrance to which is completely free. The museum is closed on Tuesdays and Sundays.

What to do in the Manacor area?

Manacor in Mallorca has great access to many attractions. One of them will certainly be the Cuevas del Drach in Porto Cristo, or Safari Zoo in Cala Millor. Worth visiting beaches in the area are certainly: Cales de Mallorca, Cala Romantica, Cala Morlanda, Sa Coma. A little further away are places such as the sanctuary – Santuario de Sant Salvador and side castle ruins – Castell de Santueri, closer to the north is worth visiting the castle Castell de Capdepera, the town of Son Servera, or a beautiful viewpoint with a lighthouse – Faro de Capdepera.

When it comes to Manacor, there really is a lot to choose from. I wouldn’t recommend it as a vacation destination, but it’s a great city to live in if you like city life. The location of Manacor makes it easy to get to many interesting places and thanks to the public transportation station, it’s also very easy to get to Palma, not only by bus but also by train.

Have any of you ever been to Manacor? How do you like this place? Do you recommend or discourage it?
