ESTELLENCS IN MALLORCA – A MODEST, PICTURESQUE TOWN IN THE WEST OF MAJORCA – TOURS IN MAJORCA.

Estellencs in Mallorca.

Estellencs in Mallorca is a very small town, located in the west of Majorca, nestled between the mountains. There is only one bus and one main street. It is so small that hardly anyone knows it exists. There are no masses of tourists in the summer. There are also no big hotels, chain hotels or complexes. In Estellencs you can definitely have a break from the crowds, the multitude of tasks and work.

As is often the case in mountain towns, everything is uphill. There are several restaurants in the town, including one just off the main street, which overlooks the sea and the valley. The locals live their free and peaceful lives in their own way, away from the masses, commercialism and glamour.

What to do in Estellencs in Mallorca?

As this town is really small, finding many attractions here is rather a problem. The main asset of this place is definitely its rawness, naturalness and authenticity. Apart from beautiful streets, architecture and a church, there is not much to see here. However, there is also a bay, which I describe below. In addition, in such a place you can definitely try the local cuisine, and because of the location of the place – you can devote yourself to hiking on mountain trails.

Parking and access.

Estellencs in Mallorca offers several parking spaces at the entrance. The town is so small that parking a car here in high season can be a problem. You can get here by bus number 200 (TIB MALLORCA), but if you plan to get to the bay, a car is definitely a much better idea.

The bay of Cala Estellencs.

The bay is located at the foot of the mountains. From the town of Estellencs it takes less than an hour to walk. The ascent is more difficult because it is uphill. There are no shops, so it is worth stocking up on food and drink before getting to the bay. There is however a bar just off the beach – Sa Punteta. The views are wonderful and the prices are exorbitant. No surprise though, as the location of the bar speaks for itself. There are very few parking spaces at the bay, so I recommend visiting it first thing in the morning. Especially as there is little sunshine over the bay in the afternoon (the mountains cover it).

The bay is rocky and there is a small harbour with boats to the right. I recommend taking swimming shoes and snorkelling masks with you. There is a lot to see. In my opinion, this place is not suitable for small children. It is difficult to get into the water and there are sea urchins and other pinching creatures that love rocky bays. By the bay there is also a mini waterfall. It’s not a Bali waterfall, it looks more like a small branch of a spring bubbling away somewhere, but it’s an eye-catcher nonetheless!
