Cala Mitjana in Mallorca

Cala Mitjana in Mallorca is one of the most interesting bays on the island. Getting to this beach takes about 20 minutes on foot and you can’t get there directly by car or bus. The safest and easiest option is to leave your car in the parking lot at Cala Sa Nau and walk along the trail up to Cala Mitjana, as the signs indicate. The second option is of course to go to the bay by rented boat. Interestingly, there used to be no such easy access to this beach. Access to Cala Mitjana is through private land of some rich family. After many years they decided to open the trail for tourists and residents, so that everyone can enjoy this beautiful place.

The bay of Cala Mitaja is not the biggest, but it is definitely beautiful, calm, picturesque and paradise. You won’t find the tourist masses here, only adventure and travel lovers who decided to come to this secret place. There are no stores or toilets in the area, so it is important to stock up on drinks, food and essentials before your hike. A pair of rock shoes and a snorkel mask will also come in handy here, as the underwater life here is quite diverse.

What to do in and around Cala Mitjana in Mallorca?

I highly recommend you to try scuba diving with a mask. As the whole bay is surrounded by low rocks, it means a lot of possibilities when it comes to watching fish and other creatures living under water. There is a sandy beach as well as a concrete part and the usual cove rocks. As far as the surroundings are concerned, it is definitely worth visiting the surrounding bays, namely Cala Sa Nau, Cala Esmeralda, Cala Petita, Cala Gran and the beautiful Parc Natural de Mondrago, Calo des Moro, Cala Llombards and many others.

It is worth noting that on Mallorca there is another Cala Mitjana, in the region of Arta in the northeast of the island and another bay of the same name on the island of Menorca. I warn so that there is no confusion. Be sure to let me know in the comments if you have ever managed to get to this beautiful bay and what were your impressions? I love places like this.
