Puerto de Valldemossa in Mallorca

Puerto de Valldemossa is a very small town, located 6 kilometers from the famous local Valldemossa. Currently, the place is filled with summer houses of local people, and once served as a fishing port town. Many people let this place go because of the winding and tight roads. However, when you get there, you will see one of the cleanest waters on Mallorca and when you look back, you will be captivated by the beautiful view of the huge Serra de Tramuntana mountains.

I will tell you honestly that I love such places. Quiet, peaceful, hard to reach and hardly touched by humans. There is only one restaurant and parking is so small that it’s hard to find crowds here. This place has another name – Sa Marina. In winter it’s empty and the waves splash against the concrete harbor. In summer, however, you can really relax here.

How to get to the puerto of Valldemossa?

You cannot get to Puerto de Valldemossa by bus. The only options are by car, bicycle or on foot. What you should know is that the beach here is rocky. Be sure to bring your swimming shoes and masks because where there are rocks, there are beautiful fish. During the summer season, jellyfish are easy to come by and they appear collectively during the hottest months. Keep in mind that as this village is small, it is advisable to bring some food and drink with you as it is difficult to find stores here.

What to do near Puerto de Valldemossa? Be sure to visit the romantic town of Valldemossa, located near Deia, as well as Soller, or my favorite Fornalutx. By visiting these places you will get to know the local side of the island and you will fall in love with it even more. I am curious about your opinion on the port of Valldemossa. Maybe someone of you managed to get there and enjoyed the charms of this place? If so, be sure to share your impressions in the comments!
