VACATIONS IN FORMENTERA – FORMENTERA ON VACATION – IDYLLIC BALEARIC ISLAND.

Vacations on Formentera

Is vacations on Formentera really a good idea? Many people have not even heard of this island. Some confuse this destination with the attraction on Mallorca, the Cape Formentor. True, the names are very misleading, but Formentera is one of the most beautiful islands I have been able to visit. It is the fourth largest island in the Balearic archipelago and in my opinion definitely worth a visit. Formentera for vacations is a perfect idea. But is it for everybody?

On Formentera will not find the staunch partygoers who spend a lot of time in the clubs during the vacation. However, a great way out of this unfortunate situation is to take a ferry to the neighboring island of Ibiza which will take less than an hour. Admittedly, you’re unlikely to make it back from Ibiza to Formentera at 4 in the morning, but what are hotels for? Combine a paradise vacation on Formentera with the party vibe of Ibiza and spend a few days on both islands.

Formentera has just over 12,000 inhabitants, which gives the impression that everyone knows each other there. The capital city of the island is San Francisco Javier, it covers an area of just under 84 square kilometers and the highest peak is 192 meters above sea level, which is called La Mola. There are also beautiful views from this place.

How to get to Formentera?

Formentera doesn’t have its own airport, that’s why when going on vacation to this small island, you have to reckon with the fact that after landing in Ibiza you’ll have to take a ferry trip which takes less than an hour (in case of a fast ferry, even half an hour). Ferries usually depart from Ibiza’s capital, the town of Eivissa, from the port. The most popular water transportation companies are Balearia and AquaBus. Prices vary depending on departure time, date (low or high season), and number of people.

On the island itself, I recommend renting a scooter or small car. At the harbor there are several companies that deal with renting vehicles. However, I recommend booking a car or scooter in advance, due to the fact that there may simply not be enough of them on that day. Booking online is therefore a really great idea. Getting a scooter from one end of the island to the other takes about 30 minutes. The roads are really well adapted and the beautiful places on Formentera are easily accessible.

Overnight in Formentera.

If you’re thinking about staying overnight on the island, to spend Your vacations in Formentera, be prepared to know that it won’t necessarily be a cheap attraction. This is all because the island is small and there are not many accommodations. And it is for this reason that hotel owners increase their prices, hoping to make money during the summer season. Formentera, however, is worth its price, and views can really reward a lot.

Formentera is an idyllic, idyllic island that attracts a lot of tourists every year, who want to visit its Spanish beaches, which resemble small Maldives. Every beach on Formentera is marked as a nudist beach, so if you are a naturist, you will find it perfect. This doesn’t mean that you can’t stay covered up, quite the contrary.

This fourth largest island of the Balearic archipelago is one of the most popular anchorages in Europe. A multitude of yachts, boats, motorboats and catamarans appear here, completing the holiday landscape. The beaches here will blow you away with their stunning views, crystal clear waters and well-maintained natural zones. Admittedly, the island itself doesn’t have too many attractions such as castles, sanctuaries, museums or water parks and other amusements for the kids, but it’s a place that I recommend everyone to see at least once in their lifetime. Here you will find peace, get close to nature and experience the wildness of the Balearic Islands. Spend an unforgettable vacation on Formentera!
